So I'm sitting in the Jules Pizza, sipping a diet coke (which to be honest I haven't had a soda in ages) after finishing 2 4x4 slices of cheese thin crust pizza. It has been the first time I had "pizza" since I started Weight Watchers. Now those 2 slices were 10 points plus, but they were a little hooray, since earlier today I finished up my first 10 week session of Weight Watchers. At my work, you can do Weight Watchers through work, but you have to pay for 10 weeks in advance. This was even more reason for me to finish- my insurance company says they will rebate me up to $200 a year for doing weight watchers. Heck yeah!
So today I lost 1.2 lbs this week. Not as great as last week (where I lost 3.4 lbs in a week), but still a loss. So I'm down 17.2 lbs in 10 weeks (technically 9 weeks, since they count your start weigh in as week 1). Only a 3.8lbs till I hit my 10% goal.
Now to find a Weight Watchers near me, so i can keep up with it over the holidays, since our work one won't start up till after the new year.
Hope to keep up the good losses!

WooWoo
Down another 3.4 lbs today! making my total loss at 16 lbs since I started Weight Watchers. Hooray! (now to eat dinner...a buffalo grilled chicken wrap on wheat tortilla). Could be better could be worse. So far I'm proud I've lost that much since i started 9 weeks ago.
Last week was rough, being sick and all, (only lost 0.2 lbs that week), but this week more than made up for it!
Hoping to keep it up over the Christmas/New Year's holiday coming up.
New Smart ones I've tried:
Pot Roast with vegs- not bad, the vegs sometimes are not tender-except the potatoes, but not bad tasting.
Breakfast Burritos (sausage, egg, cheese)- I liked these a lot! Two mini burritos for 6 points plus!
Pot Roast with mashed potatoes- too small and not filling enough. Also the pot roast got over cooked when trying to cook the mashed potatoes right.
Other things/mental notes-
Chipotle Mexican grill has Brown Rice now! I emailed them, because I couldn't find their nutrition info, and they got back to me right away! here is the nutrition info for the Chipotle brown rice.
the nutrition information for a 3-ounce serving of brown rice is as follows:
120 cal
25 cal from fat
3 g total fat
0.5 g sat fat
0 g trans fat
0 mg cholesterol
110 mg sodium
23 g total carb
1.5 g dietary fiber
0 g sugars
2.5 g protein
0% vit A
0% vit C
2% calcium
2% iron
Thanks Alicia from Chipotle.
Also, frozen mangoes, just one vegs, and green beans have saved me in my veg/fruit forms. WeightWiki, Fooducate and iTrackBites apps are all godsends! WeightWiki helps me find points for restuarants, fooducate helps me find points for things with barcodes and iTrackBites helps me track and has a calculator on it to help me track everything. Wonderful! (so much easier than paying for something that does the same thing).
happy weight loss day!

Lessons learned
Been busy trying new things and came across some more interesting foods.
I have come to the conclusion that a whole wheat english muffin with turkey and fat-free cheese is just as yummy as a turkey sandwich on white bread, if not more yummy.
This is 5 points- 3 pts for english muffin whole wheat, 1 pt for 5 slices of turkey, and 1 slice of fat-free cheese.
I've also found that the Progressive light chicken noodle soup isn't bad. A lot more broth than I usually like, but it was only 4 pts for the whole can!
Today we went out to eat for lunch with a few friends, and they chose to go for italian. Man is it hard to be good. Luckily, I was able to get half of my pasta packed up, and got my salad with light italian dressing. Not the best meal, but I'm getting there! But boy did I feel it later that evening...I haven't had much pasta since I start Weight Watchers- more rice and potatoes as opposed to pasta, so it didn't agree with me that much later. Goes to show you that your body doesn't like when you have that rich of food.
Since my last weigh in I was down 7.4 lbs since I started Weight Watchers. I've been averaging 1.5-2 pounds a week. It is a healthy weight loss. Not crazy magnificent, but still something more than I've started with. My goal was 20 pounds by Xmas, but I'll be happy with being below 200 lbs by then.
I feel thus far that I'm doing decent. I'm not killing myself with exercise or eating ALL vegs and fruits. I'm having the things I like, but in smaller portions, and also just down right making slightly better decisions.
*crossing fingers* that things keep up!

trucking along
Ok. So on tuesday (my 2nd weigh in at weight watchers after our
initial start) I lost another 2 pounds. So far I'm down 4.6 lbs in 2
weeks. I'm hoping this week I keep up the weight loss (as of right now,
Saturday evening/Sunday early morning) I have only used 2 of my weekly
points thus far. So hopefully it all goes well *crossing fingers*
Anyways, today I'm going to breakdown what Smart Ones meals are good, and what, not so good. I hope to do some mini reviews on things that help my weight loss journey, so others can learn from my help (I know I love when people tell me if something tastes horrible, but then again it is all relative- to some people certain foods taste great and others they stink).
So, here it goes- Smart ones.
We'll start with Breakfast-
I don't often eat pre-packaged breakfasts, but I thought I'd try their egg, cheese and muffin sandwiches. Not horrible, but not wonderful either. My complaint- the cheese melts pretty much completely (desinigrates basically) when the rest is done.
That's the only breakfast item I've tried, so we'll move on to the entries.
Pasta with Ricotta and Spinach- probably one of my more favorites. I recommend this one. It probably tastes the best out of the majority of Smart Ones.
Mini Rigatoni in Vodka Cream Sauce- This is ok. not the greatest, but I'd eat it again. Now I LOVE vodka rigatoni, so maybe my standards were very high.
Three Cheese Ziti Marinara- It's ok...one of the lower on the totem pole as far as their food. You'd be much better getting the bigger one with the meatballs.
Chicken Fettucini- decent, one of the better ones. I tend to add some extra pepper to it for it to work for me.
Fiesta Quesadilla- not very good quite frankly. Very dry and most of it just kind of tastes over cooked, no matter how long you nuke it for.
Macaroni & cheese- A good homestyle favorite. Not like how grandma used to make it (or homestyle tasting for that matter) but ok. Once again, I tend to add some pepper to add a hint more flavor, because it is a little bland alone.
Ravioli Florentine- not very good. Yuck: very small and boring tasting. Wouldn't do it again.
Swedish meatballs- not great, but ok. A little bland and the meatballs never seem to get done completely when the rest is done, and I'm not a fan of mushrooms, and there is few in this.
Thai Style Chicken & rice noodles- This used to be my favorites, however somewhere along the line I must of had it too much, because I didn't like it as much anymore. It does smell wonderful in the microwave however.
Traditional Lasagna with meat sauce- bleh. Too small, and boring tasting really.
Cheese pizza minis- Ok, I would take these ANY day over bagel bites. These at least taste good. The cheese I think make it taste great, personally. However, forwarning, it is VERY hard to just eat 1 serving (1 tray, and there is 2 trays in a box). I tend to eat both trays- its a full meal, so I just deal with having the 14 points for it, because I cannot have just one tray.
Ziti with meatballs & cheese satisfying selections- this was more filling than the others. I just had this tonight, so its fresh on my mind. Everything was decently heated and good sized. It's a little bit more points, but much more filling. I liked it, I'd get it again. It tastes a lot better than the boxed version of ziti.
Ok, so that's all I've tried of the Smart Ones. I have a turkey one in the freezer, so maybe I'll go back and add that one if the future.
So, that's my opinions. Now I'm off to go get some frozen mangoes- that's my favorite fruit and way to eat fruit these days.

Almost 2 weeks down
So last tuesday was my first week of weight watchers completed. I lost 2.6 lbs! (I guess I need to update my little side bar). I only really had one tough day- my two friends' wedding. The rest wasn't too bad. Now in 2 days will be 2 weeks done, so we'll have to see how I did on Tuesday.
So far I've come across a few things by doing this:
1) Sticking to the points is no sweat, but sticking to the number of servings of vegs/fruits and water...that's the hard part
2) Frozen mangos ROCK! (great thing to add to breakfast- like photo below) and Whole grain English muffins are not too shabby as well. (also in photo)
3) The Special K crackers- good, Special K chips- icky.
4) The Weight watchers cheese wedges and dulce-de-leche ice cream bars (in photo below) are both wonderful, their refrigerated dinners (like tv dinners)- icky.
5) smart ones so far makes the best frozen dinners with the points listed right on them (lean cuisine is good too, but you have to figure out the points on those).
6) Most alcoholic drinks are 2-3 points. A bud light lime is 3 pts every 12 oz, for example.
7) figuring out the weight watchers points on those mini foods (like the mini appetizers and mini desserts at weddings- too difficult!)
8) there is an app for everything- Fooducate so far has been the best app for Weight Watcher Points (on packaged things at least).
9) white rice is super high in points, as is my fav. frozen Del monte fruit freezers. (5 pts a cup of cooked white rice, and 5 points a small cup of frozen fruit freezes by del monte).
10) Weightwatcherswiki so far has been one of the best sources for points online- for restaurants, alcohol, etc.
It's been a crazy few weeks with all of the stuff I have to do on top of work and doing weight watchers. Hopefully I can keep up a little better on here with my progress. With Halloween just around the corner, I hope I can avoid the chocolate/sugar craving. So far I've been good, but I know at work on Monday it is going to be tough!
Hopefully I can get to my goal of being down 20 lbs by the end of the 10 week session, or at least close to it. *crossing fingers*

The countdown begins...
So, this is a heads up. This blog will be getting a lot more use (hopefully) come next Tuesday.
I have officially signed up to join Weight Watchers at my work. Because if you complete it fully, our insurance gives us the money back. That mixed with the fact that my mom said she'd pay for it up front...yeah, I thought, "Why not!?" I lack motivation in every other way of trying to loose weight, so maybe this will work.
Crossing fingers, but till that fateful start date, I'll have to be prepared...

Changes are the driving force to exercise
Ok, so I have gotten LAZY! There is no other word for it. I basically haven't stuck to a good diet and haven't been to the gym in well over a month. I may blame the theater production I was in, but really, I'm just lazy. However, with my work forcing me to go to all night shifts later this month, I think I need to take this opportunity to force myself to exercise and eat better. Luckily the night crew enjoys their late-night walk around the building 4 times, so I will do that, and hopefully be able to go to the gym before I head to work (to avoid the traffic at rush hour (when I'd be HEADING to work, not leaving work...lol).
I'm giving myself today as my lazy day, but tomorrow, I have NO excuse!
Hopefully I can do it! *crossing fingers*

Step-by-step
Ok. So I've been lazy, bad, horrible...whatever you call it...not good! I have been slowly trying to make it to the gym, though right now I'm averaging only once a week. With my work schedule, auditions for a show, and lots of plans with friends, my workouts have kind of taken a backseat. I know...HORRIBLE! And I know I haven't really lost much weight, as my clothes still fit the same, and to be honest, I'm afraid to get on the scale. I am petrified of it to be quite frank.
But, on a better side, I have kicked drinking soda. I might have a single Sprite over the weekend, but for the most part, Soda has gone bye-bye. So that's a step in the right direction, right?
Sadly right now, I'm still having issues drinking just water, or even crystal light water. I need me some raspberry tea. The kind your mom used to mix up in a big pitcher during the summer...yeah...that kind of sweetened ice tea is the only beverage getting me through my day. No coffee, no soda...yeah...tea right now is my only sugary fix.
However, thanks to some great deals at the grocery store on Lean Cuisines, my lunches have been comprised on one of those, and some fruity goodness stuff. My FAVORITE right now in the cuisine line is their new Garlic Chicken Spring Rolls. They are AMAZING!
And because of a blinky coupon I saw at the store, I gave these Dole Crisps fruit cups a try. The Apple Cinnamon is wonderful, especially heated. The pinapple/mango...not so much. I think i can stick to the apple crisps...only like 150 cals...perfect snack!
I'm hoping I can step it up this summer and get my butt in gear. Once I find out how this audition went, I can really plan my schedule around the gym and work. I also got to get over my fear of the scale. I need to know what I'm working with after all. I have a few weddings I'm attending later this year and next, and I don't want to be such a whale in the photos. No fun!
Go go gadget weight loss!

Coughs and better steps
So I've been battling this sickness that has hit me recently. Coughing, sinus junk, ears hurt, sore throat and all that jazz. But maybe because I'm feeling cruddy, I'm eating in better calories. lol
Had practice for the show today, so I danced all morning. (burnin' burnin'!)
Anyways, this is what I had to eat yesterday and today. I think I did pretty good for me. :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
(so I still have room to have something small, but other than that I did good the past two days. Not the most entirely healthy, but I stuck to my calories...slowly but surely. I didn't have time this morning to eat much, and that oatmeal cream pie...ugh...so many calories! Anyways, luckily my large lunch keep me going. That plus being sick, equals not a huge appetite.
Anyways...off to bed soon. Netti pot clearing, nyquil then sleeping in for Sunday! I can't wait for that. :D
Adios.

Sushi and smoothies
Ok. So I'm a day late putting this up, but here is what I ate yesterday. I was bad at dinner, but luckily I had a semi- light calorie intake during the day, so I didn't go over 2000 calories by much (only went over by 120 calories). Ideally I would of been more at 1500, but I just was so starved by dinner and needed the extra umph! after giving blood.
So I gave blood yesterday. Woo...I did my part in giving "3-people's" worth (one bag). I woke up yesterday feeling 100% better than the day before, so I thought, "yes, I got over that sickness/cold/or whatever it was!"...sadly today I woke up feeling far worse than Wednesday. Ugh.
Anyways, here is what I had yesterday. I'll post today's intake later. :)
Calories for Thursday March 31st, 2011
Breakfast:
Total calories for the day: 2120 calories
I drank a lot of water throughout the day, so hopefully that helped, but I still went over 2000 calories, so that wasn't good of me. My goal is to aim closer to 1500 calories a day, but eh. When you give blood and are fighting off a cold, you tend to slip up. I just gotta get better and not do that again!
Anyways, laters!

Another step, another setback
Ok. So I admit it. I suck at this whole, keeping up with what I eat thing. I am the first to admit I am horrible at it. But after getting another rejection with a show I auditioned for, I realized, that I really need to get my act together. Luckily the show I'm currently in is a lot of high-energy dancing, so that helps, since my gym time has been cut short because of all the practices.
I ate slightly healthier this past weekend while on a crafting weekend retreat for Autism. I haven't had soda since last Thursday (which is a big step for me, except for a single root beer drink on Sunday...but other than that, it has been Water like no other, diet iced tea, and juice). This right here is a big step. I've also been trying to eat more meats, fruits and "good carbs" and stay away from the pastas. I haven't had much pasta at all this week, and had more carbs like potatoes and rice. I know these small changes aren't huge, but they are in the right direction. Considering 3 out of 4 of the regular castmates that go out to dinner after practice with Wren and I are on a diet, shows that we all are starting to feel the pressure of loosing weight.
Sadly today I woke up battling a sickness that has seemed so familiar...ear pressure/pain, slight runny nose, glands in the neck swollen and sore throat. I had a feeling I was going to get sick today, as last night I went to bed with a sore throat. If this ends up mutating into ANOTHER sinus infection, I think its time to say to the doctor...there is a problem. This would be the 3rd time in a row (every 2 months or so) that I've gotten a sinus infection. Same feeling, same symptoms...yes, they might all be stress related, but boy are they not fun.
Today I haven't done totally horrible, thus far (as of 6pm) I've had the following:
March 30th, 2011 menu
Lunch (didn't get up for breakfast):
So thus far I've had 1034 to 1134 calories, leaving me with just the right amount for a small dinner.
I gotta get this diet rolling, and once this show is over, I plan on getting my gym time to really be stepped up a notch. Anyways...I gotta get through this all!

Tuesday Toes
So today, even though its Tuesday, is in essence my "Monday"...I'm working Tuesday through Saturday this week. Anyways, I still have not been 100% good with my nutrition and exercise, but I'm trying to get back. I officially enrolled the hubs and I in the Fitness program through my health insurance (if we go to the gym and check in 120 days in a year, we get $150 each, so $300 back if we both consistently go.) That's $300 that we can use toward the gym membership already, so we basically would only pay in the end about $200 for the use of the gym the whole year! We just gotta strive to do it. That's the toughest part. I plan on going to the gym tomorrow...I've been longing for some cardio and swimming.
Today I did have my Adult Ballet class, so I burn some calories there. My dinner was not the best...curse you fast food for tempting me...since the hubs has to get up at 5:30am to pick up a co-worker who's car is in the shop, he didn't want to cook (nor did I after work and dance class). So here's the lowdown on my food intake for the day.
Ok. I know...not perfect...and 325 calories shy of my goal calorie intake of 1500 calories a day. If I would of just drank water instead of that 30oz Sprite...I know! Shame on me. I just was jonesin' for a Sprite tonight.
Anyways...I hope tomorrow I do better. I gotta keep thinking positive and keep trying to do better than the day before! I did have sushi and vegs today!
I have however found that the Green Giant Just One vegs...are so fab! Perfect portion, and perfect for me...since the hubs is not a vegetable fan, so I can zap some in the microwave just for my meals! LOVE IT!
Okeys, off and away!

- 1 taco bell chicken quesadilla (530 cals)

(I had the cauliflower, not the broccoli, as show above)
I think also I've convinced the hubs to switch to Whole Wheat bread. If we can keep that up, its a step in the right direction right? Anyways, I'm looking forward to trying out my new swim goggles tomorrow! I hope the weather doesn't do something icky again! I actually WANT to go to the gym for once!Okeys, off and away!

Curse you weather and temptations!
Can I just curse this weather? It has made it so difficult to get to the gym in a normal routine, or even get to my dance class! Argh!
Well, tonight I hope I can make it to the gym. Aka. I'm gonna try to go, no matter what. I can't keep putting it off.
I also need to stop giving into temptation foods: ie. donuts at work, huge portions of pasta at home, that kind of stuff. *sigh*
At least I have pretty much completely switched to whole wheat pasta, bread, and tortilla shells. Woo.
I also have been good (except 1 soda over the weekend) and not had any caffinated or calorie intense sodas. So at least that is one step in the right direction, right?
Ok. I gained back a pound from when I was last actively exercising and eatting right. I MUST get back up! I really need to get rid of those temptations and I pray the weather holds out more, so I can actually get my exercise in (besides shoveling snow and scrapping ice off my car!) lol.
*crossing fingers for the drive to keep going*

Falling off the horse...
Ok, I'm going to own up now. The reason I've been neglecting the blog-o here...well...I haven't been the best in my exercise and diet. I have had an absolutely horrible week (diet and exercise wise). I ordered out, I had foods that aren't very good for me, I didn't make it to the gym, and I had a single soda this week (gasp!). I did however make it to dance class, and auditioned for a musical today (which there was about 20 minutes of dancing) so it hasn't been a total loss. I havn't lost any weight this week (I actually think I might of gained a pound). But let me show you my biggest thing to overcome:
Yes...buffalo chicken cheesesteaks. They are my kriptonite, so to speak. With all the snow we've been having, me not having time to make it to the grocery store, I kind of had to order out at work...which is never a good thing, since all the places people order from are HORRIBLELY tempting.
So, ok...I'm gonna try to do better starting later today, so sorry everyone. Not only am I cursing myself for having no confidence to say NO, but I also am cursing Mother Nature in giving us all this snow!
Anyways, back on the horse I go. We all fall sometimes, we just got to get back up and continue trying!
Laters.

Tired Thursday
Ok. So its Thursday night, and I am sooo tired. I think I might even head to bed early tonight. I originally planned on going to the gym after work, but I was so beat after the super-long day at work, that I knew it just wasn't going to happen. That, and it is supposed to snow tonight, and I'll be damn if I am going to drive home in the snow. I already did it once this week, I don't want to do it again.
Meals today were so-so. It was basically a leftovers kind of day. Here's the lowdown:
Once again, not 100% sure this is the right calories for everything, but guesstimation is the winner here...or looser, depending on your viewpoint. lol
Anyways, I'm off to go chill on the couch and possibly crash to bed early.
Have a wonderful evening everyone.

Weak Wednesday
Today was a much harder day for the eatting and working out stuff. Work was super busy, so by the time I got to the gym, I was already tired. I did get 1/2 hr of the eclyptical and 30 minutes in the pool, however I didn't get any weight lifting in today...I was just too pooped. Luckily the hot tub in the women's lockerroom was open, so I could relax a few minutes after my rough swim.
My eating wasn't the best either today. I tried to go more of a portion control, since I longed for Chinese food while at work. Also the hubs and I went out to dinner after our gym workout (I know, kinda counter productive, don't you think). But I did save half of my dinner to bring for lunch tomorrow.
Anyways, here was all my meals today. Not the best, but we all have days like today, right?
Since it always is tough to figure out calories when you order out, the above is an estimation. I might be way off, so I could of been really good today, or really bad today, depending on how you look at it. But if my estimates are anywhere near close, at least I was under 2000 cals today. Not my 1500 that I strive for, but I'll take it- It's been a long day, and sometimes you just gotta relax. We all have our ups and downs days. At least I'm making an effort, right? And I DID get some exercise in.

Meals today, Wednesday Jan. 19, 2011
Breakfast:
- Plain bagel with 1 tbsp pumpkin cream cheese (260 + 75 cals)
- Orange Peach Mango juice, 8 oz (120 cals)
Lunch:
- 2 wontons in small wonton soup (90 cals)
- 1 1/2 cups of cooked white rice (306 cals)
- 2 cups of Hunan chicken: chicken, spicy sauce, snowpeas, water chestnuts, carrots, mini corn cobs, bamboo shots (455 cals)
Snack:
- 1 Granny Smith Apple (80 cals)
- 1/2 cuban sandwich with no pickle from "Cheeseburger in Paradise" (~350 cals)
- 1/2 serving of sweet potato chips from "Cheeseburger in Paradise" (~100 cals...not sure on this one)
(this is a rough estimate, as no one seems to be 100% sure how many calories are in my Hunan chicken lunch or pretty much any of the Cheeseburger in Paradise menu items, so these are all rough estimates based on other peoples findings of similar foods)
(Dinner. Very yummy...but I had to resist the urge and not eat it all in one sitting)
(To-go Box...yes, I managed to not eat it all...Portion control...must keep chanting that)

Tuesday Two-step
I just got back from my Adult Ballet Class that I attend, taught my a friend of mine. Me being the 'big girl' size wise in the class of 6 women (there were only 3 that showed up today in the class), makes me sometimes a little uncomfortable, but my love of dance sometimes out weights my weight issue. I started dancing at the age of 3, and have continued to do so ever since. Since the class is an hour long, I don't have time to go to the gym on top of that, so Tuesdays is my dance nights.
I also hope to keep a food journal while I'm blogging about my weight loss goals, so below is my meals today. Here's the food I've had today:
My Meals today: Tuesday, Jan. 18th, 2011
Breakfast:
(Sadly I missed my breakfast today, due to having to get my car out of the ice...making me run late for work)
Lunch:
Total Calories consumed today: roughly 1480 calories
I danced the night away, so now I'm dead tired. I know my meal today wasn't the absolute best, but it could be a LOT worse.
Time to dance/step with a smile!

Day 1: Stepping up to the challenge
So I've already joined the YMCA gym (been twice so far) and already cut out soda completely from my diet, along with other choices I've decided upon. So what got me in this exercise and weight loss kick?
Well, I think it all started when I looked in the mirror not that long ago, and didn't recognize the person in the mirror. Was that really me?
It was only 3 1/2 years ago that I was close to 60-70 lbs lighter and was in college. When I graduated college I was a cool 140 lbs, and before college I was at a slim 120 lbs. At the time of college, I thought I was a little curvy...but little did I know I would long for the day when I was back at that weight only 3 years in the near future.
First, I blame the job I got out of college. I went from walking everywhere in college and going to the gym on the occasion, to a desk job, where I had to drive 35 minutes to and from work. The most walking I would get at work was to and from the printer and the fridge.
Secondly, I blame my eatting habits. I love my pasta and pizza. When I was done with college, I never left my bad college eatting habits behind. Eatting super late at night and eatting loads of carbs and soda = not a good thing.
Third, I blame my lack of drive to stick to a diet or exercise plan. This is all pure laziness on my part and the fact that I HATE giving up the foods I love.
But I plan to change all of this. I always know when my eatting was getting bad, because I started to get horrible hearthburn. I'm only 24 years old, I shouldn't be getting heartburn to the point of not being able to function! I also want to be able to not get winded from going on a short jog down the street to catch my scarf on a windy day. It's all got to start here.
I want to Smile stepping onto the scale, not get the urge to cry myself to sleep after seeing that number. I need to step up to the challenge, and it starts here.
Goals:
So, in close, this blog will help me (hopefully) to track my progress in weight loss and exercising. I plan to post my meals and improvements in exercise and weight loss, as well as the struggles that I am trying to overcome. I hope, in turn, that someday, I'll be stepping with smiles.

I also want to be able to not get winded from going on a short jog down the street to catch my scarf on a windy day. It's all got to start here.
(this is me. Currently, at 205 lbs and age 24, I tend to wear a lot of black clothes to hid my chub as best as I can)
I want to Smile stepping onto the scale, not get the urge to cry myself to sleep after seeing that number. I need to step up to the challenge, and it starts here.
Goals:
- Loose roughly 70 lbs...however long it takes, My goal weight is 135 lbs. I know the closer you get to your weight goal the harder it gets, so I plan to give myself over a year to reach it. Ideally I'd like to loose it in a single year, but I know myself, and that's gonna be really tough.
- Eat and drink healthier. Cutting the soda intake completely, no diet sodas either, no pure caffinated beverages. Also, drink more water in general. Cut my portions and eat less pre-packaged foods, and sub out white bread for wheat. Go for more whole wheat pastas and eat less fatty and greasy foods. Cut down or out completely eatting from Fast food places. I know this is a lot, but I refuse to give up foods I love...I just need to eat them in smaller portions and in healthier ways.
- Exercise as much as I can. I plan to go to the YMCA gym at least 4-5 days a week. I plan to give myself 2 days of rest for the weekends, because to be honest, who really wants to go to the gym on their day off. I know I don't. That, and my gym is close to my work, not my home. So far, I've started a routine at the Y: 30 minutes on the eclyptical or treadmill, 30 minutes weight lifting (focusing on arms and abs), and 20-30 minutes doing laps in the pool. I hope to improve upon this, as I hope to be able to handle more exercise as I progress. Luckily for me, the pool is open late in the evening, so I can go after work.
- Feel better about myself, no matter how much or how little I loose. As much as I'd love to be able to wear those cute little dresses I see in stores, I realistically know, everyone's body type is different. Mine for instance: I have hips and large boobs. Both of which I don't expect to change much, even after I loose the weight. Those two parts of my body, I know will pretty much stay the same. This weight loss is more so I can feel good in my body, and improve my health.
So, in close, this blog will help me (hopefully) to track my progress in weight loss and exercising. I plan to post my meals and improvements in exercise and weight loss, as well as the struggles that I am trying to overcome. I hope, in turn, that someday, I'll be stepping with smiles.
