Hitting the wall of weight loss

Ok. So I admit it. I have not been perfect in my weight loss journey. Luckily however, no one is perfect.
I think sometimes when you are emotional, you are allowed to be bad, provided you are not an emotional wreak every single day.
This week has been rough- my mother-in-law was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday night, suffering a stroke. She is only 49. Her recovery since then has been slow, and not going as quickly has the doctor's hoped. She is responding, but not as quickly, nor in the ways they want. So I think having a bowl of spaghetti with giant meatballs from the hospital cafeteria is fine, or the giant coffee coollata to keep me awake after spending all day either in the hospital or babysitting my rambunctious nephews. We all are allowed sometimes- so the fact that I didn't gain anything this week is kind of a minor miracle.

I did however start to do some dance work out. I'm finding that I really need to get some muscle on my body, so I'm not just all jiggly. haha. Luckily the Dance Central games have work out modes that tell you how many calories you burned and how long you worked out for. So far I seem to be able to handle 50 minutes of dancing before I feel really tired. I hope to keep up with it. A friend of mine also recently got certified as a Zumba instructor, so once she gets classes going, I'm going to start that.

(Co-worker brought in cookies leftover from her daughter's Alice in Wonderland party.)

Also, since last I blogged on food and weight loss, we had out 80s Prom Birthday party. I think I rocked my dress, though I'm sure by the end of the night I looked twice my size, after all the sweets I had that night. haha

 (The food spread)

I did eat some healthy meals though:

But also had the not-so healthy meals out-and-about:

(In my defense of this one, I only ate half- and had the other half for lunch the next day)

I also had these super tasty, but super bad for you, Irish potatoes my hubs made for St. Patrick's Day, which you can find the recipe here:

Well, hopefully I can get out of this funk of weight loss and get back into being in shape.
Also, prayers for my mother-in-law would be much appreciated all!

Gaining it back again

Ok. Now that I am over the Flu, I seem to have gained back all of what I lost while sick! Figures.
This week was Fat Tuesday, followed by Valentine's Day, so there was so many tempting foodies to be had, and I admit it- I caved. Some weeks you just can't do it. You are healthy for so long and all you want it the most unhealthy things you can find.

At least i was pretty good on Monday, when the hubs and I went out for sushi. I just love the tuna rolls at Concerto Fusion. The best ever!

The evening before Valentine's Day I baked these lemon sugar cookies for the hubs. There was so many we brought them to work (both of us). Luckily everyone loved them and devoured them, so there were no left over cookies in the house!

On Valentine's Day, the hubs made steak and homemade mac & cheese (something he likes and something I like. lol). He kinda made WAY more mac & cheese then he should have, so I have a feeling we are going to be having leftovers all weekend! lol

I also had the Lean Cuisine bagged tortellini one night, and remembered why I really enjoyed it the last time I got it. Such good flavor!

Other than that, been usual ups and downs of foodies.

Hopefully next week goes better.
Happy Weight loss!

Girl scout cookies are the bane of my existence

Curse you Girl Scout cookies and your tasty-ness! You are the reason I GAINED a pound this week! Curse you!!!!
Ok. Now that I got that out of the way, I will admit that I did gain a pound this past week (weighing in on Wed.). However, when I stepped on the scale this morning (Friday) I already dropped about 2 lbs of that, so maybe it was just the wrong day to weight in. haha (Though I have been good these past 3 days).

Other than being bad and having a boat-load of Girl Scout cookies and wine, not a lot new to report.
It is kind of funny to see how many of my co-workers at the moment are on Weight Watchers, so we now all compare recipes and frozen dinner flavors. haha

We also finished up our Breakfast nook and I've been enjoying have quick meals while sitting in these cute green seats. Check out my post of the decor and stool redo over at my madcapfrenzy site.

Anyways, hopefully I can stick to being "good" the rest of the week, and have a fab. weigh in on next Wednesday.

 Happy weight loss!

WooHoo- Down another 2.8!

So I had a wonderful weigh in yesterday- down another 2.8 lbs this week! hooray! I guess walking 5 days in a row for 35 minutes each day helped. :D

(here is my dry-erase board with my current figures)

So this past week I've tried a lot of new lean cuisines, and today I got my free lunchbox! Hooray! Here are a few I tried that are new to me.

The Asian pot stickers were surprisingly good. They were the perfect cooked and the rice was very good with the sauce. The Glazed chicken wasn't bad. My microwave at work kind of over cooked it a little on the edges, but overall not bad either. I really am liking any of the ones with rice and sauce these days.

I did some extra walking around town this past week, as the weather was BEAUTIFUL! Look at these amazing flowers in my neighborhood.

On St. Patrick's Day, I had to work, but found these delicious cookies at the store. Sadly however, a single one of these bad-boys is 4 weight watchers points plus! Holy Moly!

Over the weekend, the hubs and I went out for a late lunch/early dinner to TGIFridays. I remembered they had the parmesan crusted chicken, and got that with the spinach tortolini and a house salad with lowfat vinigrette. Was a great meal, and supposably is only 15 points plus for the whole thing (don't quote me on that though- as there was very little information on this dish at all in the internet world).

Yesterday my hubs made his fav. Chicken Enchilada lowfat soup, and tried out some new Chili powder he got from the guy who exterminates the bugs at his work. He made a huge batch of the soup to bring to work and to give to the exterminator to try out with is powder mixed in. Was pretty good- slightly more spicy than it normally is. He even gave us the chili powder in this cute little jar. :D

Lastly, today is Rita's Italian Ice day at work (every Wednesday in the Spring/Summer my co-workers get Rita's). After some research, I found that a regular Sugar-Free Cherry Gelati with Slenderita low-fat vanilla custard is only 6 weight watchers points plus! I HAD to get it. And let me tell you, it was SO worth the 6 points- perfectly filling and dealing with my Rita's craving. yay! It was on the fence of 5 or 6 points, so I just rounded up to be safe.

Anyways, I'm excited I lost another 2.8 lbs, and I hope next week goes as good- getting closer and closer to my goal! *crossing fingers* for another good week of weight loss and another great week in everything else in my life currently.
Happy weight loss all!

eeek...cookies...but yay on weight loss

So today I lost another 2.2 lbs, making my grand total of loss since joining weight watchers at 24.8 lbs down! hooray! And with this, I celebrate with...girl scout cookies?!
Not really, but there was the dreaded but delectable cookies in the office today. With that, I thought I'd look up the points plus for all the different kinds of girl scout cookies. Check it out:

Girl Scout Cookies:

  • Caramel deLites (Samoas): 2 cookies = 4 points plus
  • Peanut Butter patties (Do-si-dos): 2 cookies = 4 points plus
  • Peanut butter sandwich (Tagalongs): 3 cookies = 5 points plus
  • Shortbread (Trefoils): 4 cookies = 3 points plus
  • Thin mints: 4 cookies = (4 points plus from ABC bakers/5 points plus for Little brownie bakers)
  • Savannah Smiles: 5 cookies = 4 points plus
  • Thank U Berry Munch: 2 cookies = 3 points plus
  • Lemonades: 2 cookies = 4 points plus
  • Dulce de Leche: 4 cookies = 4 points plus
  • Thanks-A-Lot: 2 cookies = 4 points plus
  • Shout Outs!: 4 cookies = 3 points plus

Best bang for your points:

  • Shortbread (trefoils)
  • Shout Outs!
  • Savannah smiles
(I found this info at:  http://www.justdietnow.com/girl-scout-cookies.html )

So I snarfed down 2 peanut butter patties, and jotted down the dreaded 4 points of those two cookies, and now must re-arrange my dinner around it. haha
I guess I'll just have to eat a small dinner with lots of fruits tonight!
Happy weight loss everyone and *crossing fingers* for a good week again.
