Post birthday wrap up

So I am staying strong at 151 lbs this week. After having a week of "I don't care what I eat because its my birthday," I was surprised I didn't gain.
I mean, I ate some pretty non-diety foods, and lots of it. But I guess there is still part of me that in the back of my mind is saying, "don't do that, don't eat that, don't eat ALL of that." Some of that must of come through. That or I just had a good "scale day." haha
Here's some of the lowdown on the foodies since last I updated.

Yeah. So, this is soooo not on my diet. But it was free from Buffalo Wild Wings for my birthday. Sometimes you just gotta live a little, or just drool over the picture and not eat it. Luckily, I shared it- I couldn't eat it all.

My birthday dinner at Bellissimo italian restaurant in Allentown. I was smart enough to only eat a portion of it and got the rest to go. Pesto Chicken pasta- yum!

Great wine we tasted for my b-day dinner. Shared among 3 of us, so that wasn't too bad.

My absolute favorite Healthy Choice steamer- pesto pasta with chicken. Can you tell I like pesto chicken?

Homemade sloppie joe bowtie pasta. Hubs' favorite.

The most amazing cupcakes known to man- Margarita cupcakes made by my co-worker for my b-day. So awesome!

And lastly, the Rita's in our area has officially opened. I celebrated their season opening with a sugar free mango-peach gelati with slenderita custard. Not bad on weight watchers points, actually.

Hopefully after our big party on Saturday I can get back on track. We've been strapped for cash, since all our spare $ is going to the party, that I haven't gotten a chance to make a good healthy grocery run. What is your go-to healthy food that isn't that expensive?
Happy weight loss!

blargh!

So today was my very first weigh in since I started Weight Watchers that I gained weight: 0.4 lbs gained to be exact. I knew it was going to happen too. I tried to be good, but his week was filled with parties, eating out, and all around bad bad bad. To be honest, I was surprised it wasn't more, but I guess the exercise and the little bit of healthy foods I threw in when I could made it ok. This is why I CANNOT have more than one day a week where I don't track. *sigh*
Any other week I would be way more bummed about my gain, but this week was a pretty awesome week overall in life-wise stuff, so it outweighs the gain.

Among the big stuff, I got cast as Marian the Librarian in the Newtown Arts Company's "The Music Man." I am SUPER excited over this, as it is the first time that I've been THE FEMALE LEAD in a show. I've been the secondary female lead in a bunch, but never the leading female. It really was a boost to my confidence. I also hung out with a bunch of cool people throughout the week and enjoyed being a part of a surprise party for one of my theater friends for his 30th bday. (we made a "beer" cake for him- no food- just beer cans)

Another big deal weight wise, I was officially able to get my wedding band and engagement ring off my fingers. This may seem like a minor thing that shouldn't be such a woo moment, but I had been struggling to get my engagement ring off my right hand (I normally wear my band on the left and engagement ring on the right, because we haven't gotten them fixed/fused together after the jeweler went out of business before he could do it). So, here is my two rings sitting on one hand after I could get them off (because I can't photograph both hands at the same time on my own). Basically I was driving home from work on Saturday and was rotating my ring at a stop sign. It came off and I looked down in shock- did that just happen? I quickly moved it to my "skinny" hand and was super excited to tell what happened to my hubs. Sadly he was asleep when I got home from working night shift, so I had to tell him in the morning- kind of lost its "woo" by then, but still was a great moment.

Here's a few other things this week:

(diet wild cherry pepsi- the only way to get through the day, and the only diet soda I really like)

 (snack time- apples!)

(part of my chicken meal at UNOs out with friends. Roasted vegs and rosemary chicken. I gave the breadstick away (6 pp for that alone, so I gave it away) I also had a salad with their no-fat vinegrette)

(this is one of the reasons I probably gained this week- margaritas. The hubs and I had TexMex last tuesday, so I didn't start the week off well.)

So, as much as the weigh-in was not what I wanted, I knew I was bad, so therefore this week I MUST do better. Gotta keep it up if I want to be the best Leading Lady in The Music Man this August and look fab in my bridesmaid dress for my friends wedding.
Gotta keep with it!

Another day, another loss

So I'm down another 1.6 lbs this week! yay! I sticked to my points pretty much every day except Sunday, so I'm glad I lost the same amount as last week. Here is my numbers:

If I keep up this loss each week, I'll get to my goal in no time, with plenty of time in my goal weight before my friend's wedding in Sept. I'm looking forward to Thursday- Phillies opening day, and hot dog/hamburger day here at my work. Luckily our wellness group at work brings in wheat buns and turkey hot dogs and burgers. :D

Among the happenings of the week, we got an ice cream cake for my hubs, to celebrate his birthday belated.

Also, basically everyone I know: at work, friends, family, etc. all entered the Mega Millions lottery. Sadly, this 100 grand fun size candy was the closest I got to winning money. lol. The fun size chocolate is 2.5 points plus!

I tried a few more different dinners, first this asian steamer from healthy choice. Not bad, actually really sweet- almost too sweet for my taste, but good. I did take out the mushrooms (not a fan of those), but other than that, not bad.

I also tried this mexican smart ones. Really good. Didn't look that good when I mixed it up, but the taste was pleasant.

Lastly, on Sunday I enjoyed some wine with friends. I then made the mistake of going to the bar with the hubs and our one friend, because supposably there was karaoke at the bar. By the time we got there, the karaoke was done, but I ended up getting some bahama bay breezes. Can I just say that wine, followed up with these drinks- they may seem fine at the time, but the next day- makes you feel like horrid!

Anyways, hopefully I can keep this up. So far so good!

Sick but still down

Sorry I'm so late at my weekly update, but I currently am having a battle with an ear infection and strep throat. blah.

Well on Tuesday I was down another 1.2 lbs- so total down is 32.4 lbs (I'll update my little banner at the left later when I get on my "design" laptop...I'm just too lazy to get it out, lol).
So some of the things I was confronted with this past week beforehand was the difficulty of my birthday. Birthday cake, ice cream, and the beloved birthday dinner of italian.
Luckily, I banked all my points for my birthday, so I could have the most awesomeness of Italian food, from my fav. italian restaurant up in A-town.
Here is some pics from the big dinner.

Italian is my weakness, and I have been good at not having a whole lot of it- or going healthier with it. But for my bday, I just said- I want a big yummy meal (it was so much food, I actually had leftovers for later in the week).
My one co-worker, aware of my weight-loss mission, made these low-fat brownies for my birthday (she used egg whites instead of full eggs, and applesauce instead of oil). These were super moist and super yummy!

Being sick right now, I haven't been very hungry, so sticking to my points hasn't been hard. However today, all I really wanted was a milkshake. I hadn't had a milkshake since before October, before I started weight watchers. After seeing commercials on hulu for my beloved McD's shamrock shake, I begged the hubs to buy me one, as my doctor's note actually suggested cold beverages, including milkshakes! lol. I only got the medium/small 16 oz- which still is 12.5 points plus! Eek! But at least I had him get it without whipped cream or a cherry (I'm not sure if the point value is with whipped cream or not, though).

But overall, I'm keeping up with my weight loss. I managed to get a few clothes for my birthday from 2nd Avenue- a local thrift store type place, where I picked up 5 tops, 2 dress pants (now down to a size 14!), 1 pair of jeans, 2 pairs of shoes, and 1 dress- and 3 items for the hubs and a few items for a friend's bridal shower- all for $51 total. :D
if you have one of these by you, I totally suggest checking it out.

Ok, so that's basically the overall update. Hopefully there will be a pro to me being sick this week, because right now all I see is the crappiness of being sick and wasting many hours sleeping and sleeping and sleeping. *sigh*
Happy weight loss everyone!

Over the halfways point

So after my weigh in on Tuesday, I lost another 1.6 lbs, making my grand total lost at 31.4 lbs. I'm official over halfways to my goal! Hooray!
I was skeptical about my weight loss after dealing with a very tempting day at a hockey game (beer anyone?), followed by going to Buffalo Wild Wings. Each boneless wing is 2 pp, and then for every 6 wings (so 12 pp at this point) you have to tack on an addition point for the sauce. So, 6 boneless mild wings is 13 points plus. Eek! I soaked up a huge chunk of my weekly points that day, as I had Chipotle for lunch. All in all, it is the most I have ever used of my weekly points thus far, but luckily I didn't touch them at all every other day that week. So, I was super happy and super surprised with the 1.6 lbs loss.

(Me and friend Dani at the game- with 7 other people (one being my hubs)).

(The Titans won 5-1 that day!)

 (Beer anyone?)

The hubs tempted me with birthday cake at my bday surprise on Monday (my bday is Sunday, but so few people could get together that day, he surprised me early). So, cake...yeah...super hard.
When you look at the point values for vanilla birthday cake with icing, it makes you want to cry. I had 8 pp at the end of the day, so we figured out how big of a slice I could have, and I must say, it was mighty pitiful. *sigh*
(The dreaded birthday cake)

Anyways, hopefully the rest of the week goes well and I keep on trucking along with my weight loss. Since I hit 30 lbs down, I'm officially going to go through my closet this week, so I'm hoping for another moral boost. :D
Laters and keep on losing it! hehe
